Train hard with lower risk
The Monadnock Straight 24" White Foam Training Baton, model 1000324, gives you a safer 24 inch foam training baton for realistic baton drills without unnecessary injuries. High density, closed cell foam absorbs impact so you and your training partners can focus on technique instead of bruises. Instructors use it to push recruits, officers, and security staff through aggressive blocks, strikes, and red man scenarios while keeping injury risk down.
Built for realistic baton work
This straight baton keeps the familiar profile of a standard impact baton, so your grip, stance, and muscle memory carry over to duty gear. The bright white body and clear “TRAINING ONLY” marking in the middle help keep it separate from live equipment at a glance. A contrasting black collar near the handle provides a visual and tactile index point as you move.
Whether you run a police academy, corrections in-service, or private security training, this USA made foam baton holds up through repeated drills, controlled contact, and scenario work. It is a simple tool that keeps your training safer, cleaner, and more realistic.

-
Law enforcement, corrections, and security academies that match training gear to issued straight batons.
-
Scenario training environments that require visually distinct training tools so live batons stay holstered.

Frequently Asked Questions about Monadnock Straight 24" White Foam Training Baton
Question 1: Is this the same size as a standard straight duty baton?
Yes. This training baton measures approximately 24 inches in length, which matches one of the most common straight duty baton sizes. That size helps your stance and grip transfer directly to your service baton.
Question 2: How soft is the foam on the baton?
The baton uses high density, closed cell foam that feels firm in the hand but more forgiving on contact than a hard polycarbonate baton. It is designed to reduce injury risk during drills, not to eliminate the need for protective gear or controlled contact.
Question 3: Can this baton be used outdoors in all weather?
You can use it indoors or outdoors during typical training sessions. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, extreme heat, or harsh chemicals can shorten the life of the foam, so it is best to store it indoors in a cool, dry place between classes.
Question 4: Is the “TRAINING ONLY” marking visible in low light?
The marking is printed in dark text on the white body and is clearly visible in normal lighting. It is not reflective or glow in the dark, so in very low light you should rely on policy and equipment checks to separate training gear from live batons.
Question 5: Does this baton come with a warranty?
Monadnock typically stands behind its training products, and WCUniforms supports hassle free returns for 30 days on most items. For specific manufacturer warranty coverage on model 1000324, contact us before purchase or check your agency’s procurement guidelines.

Batons should be sized proportionally to the Officer’s height. One of the common misconceptions is a longer baton is better. Normally, if an Officer is given a baton that is too large for them they will naturally find the proper balance point for grip….much like a baseball player will “choke up” on a bat that is too large. By “choking up” the Officer has to overcompensate for the improper length and will move their grip up on the handle several inches negating the length advantage.
Recommended Baton Lengths Based on Officer Height
This is not a firm rule, rather a recommended guideline.
