1. Insert post into the circular detent on magazine base plate. Place thumb over opposite end of base plate. Keep magazine pointed in a safe direction.
2. Keeping thumb in place, rock the wrench downwards to pull the base plate away from the magazine.
3. Remove the wrench and use thumb to finish removing the base plate. Caution: the spring and inset are under pressure. Be sure to capture the spring and insert with thumb.
4. After the base plate has been removed, ease the spring and insert out of the magazine.
