Created by Crucible^® Industries—an undisputed leader in the manufacture of high-performance specialty steels—CRU-WEAR's advanced alloy composition allows it to excel in applications that require greater wear resistance than D2, more toughness than M2 high-speed steel, or both. To further maximize the performance of this alloy, the enhanced version of CRU-WEAR used in the blade of this knife is produced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process, which minimizes alloy separation and ensures an ultra-fine, highly homogeneous grain structure. In a knife blade, that translates to amazing toughness and the ability to take and hold an outstanding edge. Proudly featuring Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole™, the full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade of this Para 3 is supported by our patented Compression Lock® mechanism, nested stainless steel liners, and light gray textured G-10 handle scales specially reserved for Spyderco’s elite family of CRU-WEAR knives.
