Frequently Asked Questions about Safariland Vertical Universal Belt Loop

Which holsters work with the Safariland VUBL?

The Safariland VUBL works with any Safariland duty holster that uses the 3-hole mounting pattern. Safariland also lists it as compatible with its Quick Locking System (QLS) for fast holster swaps.

What belt widths does the Safariland VUBL fit?

The VUBL comes in two versions: VUBL-1-2-2 (1307303) for 2 inch (50mm) duty belts and VUBL-1-2 (1307302) for 2.25 inch (58mm) duty belts. Choose the size that matches your outer duty belt.

How is the VUBL different from a standard Safariland UBL?

A standard UBL, like the 6070UBL mid-ride loop, holds your holster at one fixed height. The VUBL gives you three heights, low, mid, and high ride, and lets you switch between them on the belt without tools.

Do I need tools to change the ride height on the VUBL?

No. Safariland states you can raise or lower the holster to any of the three positions without tools, even while the holster stays on your duty belt. That makes it easy to adjust before getting into a patrol car.

Is an adjustable belt loop secure enough for duty use?

Yes. Safariland states the VUBL passes its retention pull test and is made of DuPont Zytel nylon. It locks onto your duty belt through slide-on belt slots, so the holster stays put during duty wear.
