Frequently Asked Questions about the Safariland 745BL Clip-On Holster Belt Loop

What holsters fit the Safariland 745BL clip-on belt loop?

The 745BL fits Safariland holsters and accessories built on the 3-hole mounting pattern. Safariland states it is interchangeable among various Safariland holsters, so confirm your holster uses the 3-hole pattern before ordering.

What belt widths does the Safariland 745BL fit?

The 745BL fits belts from 1.5 to 2.25 inches (38 to 58 mm) wide. That range covers 1.5 inch gun belts, 2 inch duty belts, and 2.25 inch duty belts.

How is a clip-on belt loop different from a standard holster belt loop?

A clip-on belt loop attaches over the belt without unbuckling it, while a standard belt loop threads onto the belt. Clip-on mounts go on and come off faster; threaded loops usually hold tighter.

What is the difference between the 745BL-2 and the QLS 22 versions?

The 745BL-2 is the clip alone. The 745BL-2-MS22 and 745BL-76-MS22 add a QLS 22 receiver plate, so you can swap any holster fitted with a QLS 19 fork without tools.

Does the Safariland 745BL lower the holster?

Yes. Safariland states the 745BL is designed to lower the holster by 2 inches (50 mm), placing the holster lower on the hip than a belt-level mount.
