The built in tactical LED produces a bright beam suitable for close to mid range use and is rated at roughly 120 to 130 lumens. It includes high, low, and strobe modes. Strobe can help distract or disorient a potential threat so you may be able to disengage without activating the stun function.

The S-3000SF uses a built in rechargeable battery that is not user replaceable. You recharge it with the included cord. Runtime varies with use, but you can expect multiple cycles between charges when using it mainly as a flashlight. Top it off regularly to keep it ready.

A dedicated safety switch helps prevent accidental discharge. To activate the stun feature, you must first arm the unit and then press the activation button. When stored with the safety engaged and kept in the holster, the risk is greatly reduced, though responsible storage is still important.
